What is an NHS Inquiry?

It’s something that we hear about in the news, but what exactly is an NHS inquiry?

An NHS inquiry is undertaken when something goes wrong with the care provided by any NHS funded service. When this happens, that service is required to be open and transparent about the healthcare of the families and patients involved. The inquiry will investigate the case and make recommendations to help prevent it happening again.

NHS inquiries are an important aspect of continuously developing the NHS. They help highlight any systemic weaknesses, expose good practice and support the NHS in focusing on safety and quality. Ultimately an inquiry is about learning.

Of course all this work requires interviews or discussions with those involved to fully document the case – and that’s where FSTL steps in.

We provide transcription services for whatever type of interview is required. These can be individual interviews, round-table discussions, telephone interviews or even via skype. They can either be recorded directly by us, or some clients prefer to upload sound files securely to our website.

Inquiries can be sought for all aspects of the NHS: Mental health, Care Homes, Administration, GPs, NHS Trust Improvements, Coroners inquests, Disciplinary Proceedings, Serious Untoward Incidents – and FSTL covers them all.

With 25 years of experience of dealing with highly sensitive material, often the subject of which is very much in the press and public domain, we know how vital security and confidentiality are.

This is where our NHS clients need to know they’re dealing with a transcription service that not only does an excellent job, but handles all the material with understanding and total confidentiality.

Our secure website and password protected finished documents deliver peace of mind to our NHS clients.

If it’s important to them, it’s important to us.
