Experience counts when it comes to transcription in the legal sector

The team at FSTL specialise in many areas of transcription, but one of the largest is the legal sector. Legal firms by their nature have a varied client base. Since 1990, we have been providing transcription services to a number of solicitors firms and legal departments of Local Authorities covering many different areas.

Our areas of expertise include the following:

Interviews of proceedings for Regulators or Tribunals. We are highly experienced in producing transcripts for Fitness to Practise proceedings for a variety of Regulatory bodies. We understand the importance of producing an accurate record of a hearing in a timely manner.

Recordings of in-house client meetings. At FSTL we offer a service to record meetings, no matter the size, whether it’s a one-on-one interview or a larger group meeting of solicitors and experts. Our portable equipment means we can record and then transcribe proceedings so that all parties then have an accurate and independent record of what was discussed and who said what, without anyone having to rely on their notes. We can even dial-in and record conference calls if required!

Coroner’s Court Hearings. Since 1990, we have transcribed numerous cases for Coroners’ Courts around the country. We understand the importance of accuracy and we spend time checking spellings of names and quotes from original Court document bundles where possible.

Police interviews – both audio and video recorded. Transcribing police interviews is a unique challenge that requires a high level of expertise. These interviews have to be transcribed completely verbatim, every ‘erm’,‘er’, repetition and pause is included and in the case of video interviews, non-verbal signs such as nodding or shaking of the head or other gestures need to also be included in a transcript. This is because the documents are submitted in conjunction with other key evidence and are closely scrutinised in court. It is of particular importance when a child is being interviewed.

Webinars. Many legal firms now use webinars to communicate with their clients. At FSTL we can transcribe these so that a written document can also be provided to clients for them to easily reference and share with colleagues.

We understand the security and confidentiality issues that are often faced with producing documents for use in the legal sector, and our dedicated team of trusted transcribers are the utmost professionals that mean our clients have total peace of mind when accessing our secure website and password protected finished documents. Our vast experience in this area means we produce high quality transcripts within a timeframe and format in-line with our clients’ requirements.

If you’re in the legal sector it makes complete sense to outsource your transcription needs to us. Transcription is our world, it’s what we’re experts in, so by using us you’re getting an accurate service with a speedy turnaround that frees up your internal staff to utilise their skills in their own areas of expertise. You’ll receive a document that is a precise record of your meeting or interview that accurately reflects what took place. The bottom line is that outsourcing your transcription is not  only more cost effective but saves time and effort too.

If you are considering using a transcription service, we think experience counts. The team at FSTL have been serving the legal sector since 1990, so why go elsewhere?
