It’s back to school… and back to business!

Why do the summer holidays always seem to go so quickly?! With the back to school buzz upon us, we’re taking a look at how you can apply the same principles of getting organised to go back to school when you were a child to going back to business after the summer holidays too!

Does your uniform still fit?!

This is more about approaching the return to work with a positive mindset. It’s likely that there have been developments in the projects you’re working on while you’ve been away and you’ll need to catch up. Take the time to read through your emails, catch up on what’s been going on and allow yourself the first day to get back into the swing of things – this will help you ensure everything still “fits” before you take on anything new.

Replace your worn out and missing stationery

Often the lead up to going away on holiday is fraught – frantically juggling everything that needs to be signed off in the nick of time before you log off. When you get back it’s time to take stock again, prioritise those urgent tasks that need to be done on your return and get organised. Make a plan, get your to-do list written and then you’ll be better prepared for being back to work.

Paste your new timetable into your homework book

By this one we mean you need to know what’s coming up, and start planning for what needs to be done over the next few months.

Events such as Quarterly results presentations and AGMs require careful planning – you’ll need to ensure that some key factors are incorporated to ensure the timing works, especially as the meeting may need to comply with certain regulations. You need to know what needs to be done by when so that you can cover off all the necessary steps in advance and in plenty of time.
